IDW's Judge Dredd

Anyone following IDW's latest inception of Judge Dredd?

It's actually kind of cool. The art is a fun nod to old-school pulp and sci-fi comics and the writing is entertaining. Overall, however, it really feels like the title struggles to break out of its shell; like, it needs a real kick in the ass.

Anyone else getting this feeling?

I'm digging it. I think the American writers trying to use the British style is holding it back. I think they're afraid to americanize it though, which I get.

Oh wow, Carn, that's a great point. It does feel like they are trying to shove some British style in there.

Honestly, I think if they just created the story, unhinged and uninhibited, it would really flourish...I can totally see the potential for it.
