Profanity in Comics
How does everyone here feel about how and if profanity should be used in comics? As long as it is used sparingly and reinforces an idea, it can be most useful in a story.

Re: Profanity in Comics
I find cursing for the sake of cursing in any sort of medium a bit annoying. If they are just trying to be edgy by throwing in as many curse words as possible, then it feels like I'm reading something meant for 13 year olds.
For the most part, I'm fine with cursing though, there are many situations where it would be weird not to curse. I'm sure when you find out the world is ending you aren't really monitoring what's coming out of your lips

I have no problem with cursing, this said I am a fan of Mark Millar. I would much rather see the profanity then the $#!@ censoring job they have been doing for the last 100 years. If a title is mature enough to have use of the wording, it shouldn't be afraid of it. A clever censorship of language I have seen recently is in the current Uncanny X-Force run where the words are redacted.
