And this question completely discounts any console conversion FPSes, I'm talking about the true PC FPS. For me it's a competition between Unreal Tournament and Quake 3, but I'd love to hear if there's something I've missed out on over the years to cut my teeth on!

Team Fortress 2. No other FPS has me coming back over and over like that one. And you just can't compete with a hat collecting simulator.
